Camping Peggs Beach Tasmania
The Peggs Beach Conservation Area has two separate campgrounds; the first is Black River campground which has pit toilets, no drinking water and the second is Peggs Beach campground that has flushing toilets but still no drinking water. Both locations have tank water that must be boiled before drinking. All sites at Peggs Beach are unpowered, and you can’t book a campsite in advance. Peggs Beach campground, please note this camping location is only fairly small and is very popular over the Christmas New Year period. Peggs Beach offers excellent camping areas among trees with the campground itself only have basic facilities including toilets and shelter. The area has excellent safe swimming beaches nearby, and whilst Peggs Beach is located in a conservation area, national park entry fees do not apply. Peggs Beach campground has basic flushing toilets. The Peggs Beach campground is quite close to a busy highway but is also right next to a lovely wide beach with boat-launching places nearby. This campground is surprisingly quiet given the highway nearby. Peggs Beach has sites sheltered among coastal vegetation and a separate, more open area that has limited facilities. To access Peggs Beach, turn off the Bass Hwy app. 11 km east of the Stanley turn-off, or 14 km west of the Rocky Cape turn-off.
