Camping Marrawah Tasmania

The free camping area at Green Point Marrawah is one of the best campsites in Tasmania due to its spectacular location. Green Point Beach Marrawah Tasmania has been voted one of the three best surfing beaches in Australia, is located some 2km from Marrawah and has a small free camping area suitable for tents (only a small area) and self-contained vehicles. There are lots of Aboriginal rock carvings, especially around Green Point, Preminghana and West Point near Marrawah Tasmania. There is limited accommodation, although the isolation is what makes Marrawah special. A large surfing and windsurfing competition is held in the area each year, as the surf is world class. It is well worth the effort to visits Marrawah and other towns on the West Coast of Tassie including Smithton and Arthur River. It is free to camp at Marrawah, however, please note this camping area gets very busy during summer holidays, and particularly over the Christmas New Year and Easter breaks, and on long weekends during warmer months. As it is only a small camping area, be prepared with an alternative plan as there are limited camping options in this reasonably remote part of Tasmania.
