Camping Huon Campground Lake Pedder Strathfordon Tasmania

The Huon Campground Lake Pedder, Strathgordon Southwest National Park Tasmania provides free camping with basic facilities in a beautiful area of Tasmania. The Huon campground is suitable for smaller rigs such as small caravans, camper trailers, caravans, campervans and tent based camping. There is a day-use picnic area with shelter suitable for visitors having a picnic in the area. Water is available, however, it must be treated before drinking. There are basic composting toilets at the Huon Campground. The Huon camping area is not very large and has 10 campsites only with each campsite having a firepot (wood is provided). Dogs are strictly prohibited and the area is patrolled by a Ranger. A valid National Parks Pass is required and must be clearly displayed. The area is patrolled by Rangers and fines may be issued if you don’t have a valid pass. This is a  spectacular part of Tasmania, with stunning scenery, however, please note that the weather conditions at Lake Pedder can be very changeable and very harsh at any time of the year, but particularly so during Winter when heavy snowfall, rain and strong winds are common.
